Lake Benbrook Thursday nights Working mans Tournament - 05/20/13 10:09 PM

The working mans tournament on Benbrook Lake will be held every week starting this Thursday May 23rd.

Launch at marina is $5
Buy in is $20.00 a team
Big bass pot is $10.00 (the big bass must be over 6lbs to win the Big bass pot if that week a big bass is not caught the pot carries over until one is caught).

Launch will be at 6:00 P.M. at Benbrook Lake Marina at Dutch Branch park (now the only marina on the lake)Sign in starts whenever you get there and the order of when you get to take off depends on the time you get there for example: if you are the first to sign up you take off first, if you're the last one to sign up you bring up the rear.

3 fish limit all fish over 14 inches, if a fish under 14 inches is turned in it becomes a 1 pound deduction.

live wells will be checked prior to launch

You must have weighed in by 9:30 if it is 9:31 you will not be able to weigh in.

if anyone has any suggestions or ideas concerning on how we could make this tournament more enjoyable or more successful they will be very appreciated and taken into consideration, I want this tournament to be a big success and want yall to have a good time to.

Thanks and God bless
See you Thursday

we have never had a problem with people bringing in short fish, bringing in a short fish would be braking the state law.if you have a fish that is questionable bring it in and measure it before you weight it and if it is short you can release it,but if you weight it and then it is checked there would have to be a penatly.most penatlies would be for bringing in a dead fish.

With the locals wacking 7#ers like nothing
good luck with fish you need to measure...

If you bring in a fish under 14 its a pound deduction and you don't get to weigh that fish.
also a dead fish is a pound deduction but you still get to weigh it.

That lake hates me but I may come out tonight to donate to the cause I guess..

Do they still open up that little burger shack thing right there..after the T? And is the big bass pot mandatory/ I will NEVER EVER catch a bass over 6 pounds in that lake, so no need to waste the extra ten if I don't need to.. lol

We did fish last night in the wind only 1st place was 7.9lbs these fish were on a tough bite! the lake was awfully rough to it wasnt that great of conditions but we made it work.

Jake blood you do not have to get in the big bass pot it isnt mandatory.

Re: Lake Benbrook Thursday nights Working mans Tournament - 04/27/16 12:02 PM

okay we would need some one with a scale and a place to launch which would most likely be the marina. Need at least five boats $20 buy in, two people per boat. Winner take all or winner take 80% and second take 20%. If less than five show up winner take all. So who else is in and willing to help with the scales and registration. It would be twice a month in a Saturday evening or morning?

Re: Lake Benbrook Thursday nights Working mans Tournament - 04/27/16 12:53 PM

Marina getting pretty tricky

Re: Lake Benbrook Thursday nights Working mans Tournament - 04/27/16 01:06 PM

Yeah would probably have to wait till next month till water levels dropped, just seeing how many are interested and if there's enough then will set a date, worst case we move to Arlington lake.

Re: Lake Benbrook Thursday nights Working mans Tournament - 04/27/16 11:04 PM

Well I have scales for the Club that we help run. Been waiting for someone to put this on. I might be interested in doing this but right now I have a full plate! Everyone that is interested in fishing this let me know and I will see what we can do to get this started! Let's get some numbers!

Re: Lake Benbrook Thursday nights Working mans Tournament - 04/27/16 11:10 PM

After my daughter gets done with her highschool bass fishing I will be putting on some open tournaments out there. If y'all would be interested in that give me some feedback!

well the Thursday night tournaments are done for the season.... but Saturday the 24th there will be a open tournament held at the marina.... 6:30-2:00 $100 buy in plus $5 ramp fee 100% pay back pays 1 place for every 5 boats
