Skunked on the coast.

We made a quick trip to Seadrift today. The boat trailer overhaul isn't complete so I was afoot. I fished the little jetties at the turn around for several hours and covered most of the area. I had hits from 2 piggies right at the rocks using a black wooly booger. I threw the whole box. Streamers all the way down to bead head nymphs. Top water poppers to dragging jigs on the bottom with zero results. My 3 boys and wife were with me. They were using spinning rigs and dead shrimp. They had constant catches of hard heads, gaff tops,rat reds, sting ray,puppy drum and sheep head. So the fish were there! I just don't understand why I couldn't get anything to hit????? I finally gave up, broke out the bait caster and caught a nice keeper flounder. So I didn't come home too mad. It's hard to cry and eat stuffed flounder at the same time.
