Local creeks

Local creeks - 06/21/16 09:33 PM

Some of you might be in areas with few streams or bar ditches, and some of us live in areas with clear warm water and the species which reside there. I wonder how many of us have considered fishing urban waters?
I live in Arlington Texas and prefer to fish the local streams here because they're close and have healthy populations of fish. In the foreground of this photo you can see my friend fishing this water for the firsto time.

Some of the scenery can be amazing especially closer to the headwaters

Do you have similar little gems in urban settings?

Didn't you give a presentation on this subject at TRWD Flyfest?

I've been kicking myself for missing it ever since.

I cross over Bowman Branch on 360 on my way to work and have been thinking about exploring it between 360 and Joe Pool.

+1 on Les's comments. He showed me a thing or two about local creek and small stream fishing.

Man, I really love that second photo as well. I've gotten back to fishing small creeks lately myself. Really peaceful.

Hi guys, I'm gonna pitch in here with some pictures of my favorite urban local creek: Grapevine Creek. I just went there this morning which will likely be the last time it will look like this for a long time as little rain and blazing temperatures kick in. It's kind of sad seeing such a beautiful creek lose it's vitality as summer wears on.
