Duck Creek

Duck Creek - 05/18/16 06:52 PM

I've seen a lot of posts on here lately from guys fishing creeks. I used to love fishing small creeks but over time it seems like, in my mind, if I go fishing it has to be in my boat. Not so much a conscious decision - it just happens. I have a little creek just down the road from my house that I drive over every day. And, every day I think to myself that I really should go give it a try. Well the other day I did and thanks to you guys I rediscovered how enjoyable it is to get wet, crawl around in bushes and get really close to all that nature provides.
I carried my camera with me and shot a little video. This is to all you guys that understand what I'm talking about. Thank you.

Nice video. Growing up on the Oregon Coast, 90% of the fishing that was on creeks that you can easily cast the width of. I wouldn't have it any other way. Yes I have access to boats and big waters, while fun it just isn't the same as creek fishing.

That was an extremely well done video Capt. thumb

Nothing like the serenity of a small creek. Most of the time I have those small creeks all to myself.

Thanks for sharing.

I would also like to know what camera you used for the video. I have a GoPro but am not happy with it.

I used an Olympus tough for the underwater shots. The rest is with a Nikon D3200. I have a buddy that has a GoPro. I like it for some situations but I don't like that it doesn't have a zoom lens. I like to incorporate a lot of wildlife in my stuff and it's real hard to do with a GoPro. The GoPro is a whole lot easier to handle in a moving boat though.

Love the wildlife shots. Great editing. Where is the hero shot of the 3lb LMB? Man, I need to find some little creeks like this one to pass some time with the dog. He would love it.

Excellent video! Which lens were you using?

Re: Duck Creek - 06/07/16 07:09 PM

Jeff - I don't believe a guy has to "worry" to much about catching a three pound bass in that little creek.
There is plenty of stuff in those little creeks for a dog to get into - I know.

Steve - I used a Nikon 55 - 200
