Hey there, new to Fly Fishing, not new to the forum. Picked up a combo at Cabelas the other day and decided to give it a shot down on Salado Creek using a little yellow Bett's popper. Caught a few spotted bass, a few largemouth and more than a few sunfish. It was a good day of fishing, this may be my new favorite way to fish!

Congratulations on catches . Which Cabelas rig did you get ? I have the RLS combo . 9' ,5-wt .

It's the most fun and frustrating way to catch fish, and now you're about to spend lots of time and money because you're hooked. roflmao

I'm already hooked! Every day I'm thinking about new waters to fish, I've hit the Lampasas below Stillhouse, Nolan Creek, and Salado Creek so far, I see a few good posts from the Brazos below Possum Kingdom.

Welcome, we fish a lot of the same waters. Never tried Salado creek.
