It is a great deal ! I just bought one back about a month ago for $199.99 in 9', 5wt , 4-pc . As far as the warranty the package says one yr but the people at Cabelas said if i ever break it just bring it back and they'll give me a new one .

How does this compare to the Orvis Encounter? Both are almost the same price right now.

. Same price but regular price on the RLS is supposedly $319.00 , the Encounter $159.99 is regular price always . Personally since i have not used mine yet and i have not handled the Encounter i really cannot say what any other difference would be . I do know that the Orvis Clearwater Combo has been mentioned and is popular for the more advanced learner . Here is a god read about several good brands and names :
