Fly Fishing this weekend on the Coast

Fly Fishing this weekend on the Coast - 03/15/16 04:27 PM

I've been conventional fishing on the coast for about a year now, but I'm looking to take the fly rod out this weekend. I normally go around the bays in Freeport and Galveston in the yak.

Anyone available to go Sunday with me to show me some pointers? Weather doesn't look to bad right now.

Only fly fished the coast once or twice with no luck. We can try some spots I got or if you have a boat I'll pay the gas and bring the beverages. Not looking to steal honey holes only want to learn how to read the coast a little better for fly fishing.

I'll probably leave the Katy area around 6 in the morning.

I just booked my family trip in May....I hope it's decent.

I tried to fly fish (first time in the salt with fly rod) last year during Tropical Storm Bill (said hurricane). Needless to say, I practiced casting my pretty hand tied flies. Total time fishing in 5 days - 3 hours. LOL! I sure felt cool poling the flats in my pirogue. Never saw a fish. eeks
