Did a small group tuna run & gun trip on the Pelican out of DSH this past Saturday.

Seas were good enough, smoothed down to 2'ers for the most part in the afternoon.

Hit several shrimpboats out there a-ways. Found the beginning of a tuna bite, landed 15 Blackies, (including the biggest one I've ever seen an easy 20+lbs), 15 or so shark, 1 Dorado, 2 kings, 1 under sized Ling (group missed a 20+lb Ling) fought multiple small Dusky/Silky sharks, and bunches of the ever present Boneheads( Bonito). One lessoon learned let the rookies catch the Boneheads, leaves the tuna for the rest of us. wink

Overall had a super great trip with 6 offshore rookies & 2 second timers.

Expect the tuna bite to get better moving forward.

Captain & crew did fantastic job, so much better than chartered boat from 2016.
