Texas GRAND SLAM this morning .... - 06/20/17 03:48 PM

Fathers Day Fishin' trip was today since my son had to TCB @ The Boiling Pot Sunday where he is the Manager taking care of their loyal and new customers.

The Bay was "alive" with fish this morning and I ended up catching and stringing the TEXAS GRAND SLAM - Trout, Redfish, Flounder and Drum.

Rex, II had his limit of 5 Trout. On the way home with our fish at 9:07 a.m. !

We'll be eating good the next few days.

Congratulations on your catch ! How does that trout taste ? Is that saltwater or freshwater ?

Saltwater .. and trout is awesome for filets.

Fried or grilled in an iron skillet.

I have put a Recipe Section in my 3rd edition of WadeFish RockportŠ Book & DVD ... which is being included now with all new orders.

Nice catch. What bait are you using? I've only caught black drum using gulp.

plugchunker, I've been using live shrimp under an Alameda Rattler cork and then switch to a Glow or Pink Rockport Rattler jig rigged with a 3" pearl Gulp! shrimp when I run out of the live shrimp. I invented the Rockport Rattler jigs back in 2003 and you can find them in your local Academy or tackle shop.

I catch a better variety of fish using live shrimp vs. croaker and a Rockport Rattler jig rigged with the 3" Gulp! shrimp will do the same.

When I am after bigger trout, I will use the 5" Plum/Chartreuse SW Bass Assassin rigged on a Chartreuse/RedEye Rockport Rattler jig.
