Aransas Pass Flounder Gigging - 05/25/16 08:20 PM

Summer is in full swing and so is the gigging. The flounder gigging guides out of Conn Brown Harbor in Aransas Pass Near Port Aransas and Rockport make it look easy. Lots of limits of flounder with some sheepshead being gigged as well. Not many black drum yet being gigged but that should change. It's easy to why everyone chooses a guide from Conn Harbor to go gigging if there's a flounder around its coming home. With Conn Brown being home to more gigging guides than any where else it really puts the heat for a guide to perform resulting in lots of happy clients. 361 highway from Aransas Pass to Port Aransas has been a hot spot for walkers on both sides of the road but beware lots of rays. Flounder have been showing up different times every night so don't be afraid to rework areas a few hours later. Wish I could tell you what the have been laying on but every night it varies sand silt shell grass they just can't make up their mind.
As we go deep into June the wind should start to lay down and make thing even nicer. But any who here is a few pics from a couple of the last charters. As a reminder I provided everything even the fish cleaning just bring fishing license and drinks.
All gigging is done from the boat so no fear of the stingrays, kids are always welcome and guys beware ladies have been out gigging the guys here lately so so don't be surprised if your wife or girl friends shows you up.
