Winter Fishing in Seadrift, TX - 01/16/16 12:50 AM
With duck and dear season coming to a close, most people hang up the outdoor activities until the weather starts to level out. Well I say, why wait that long? I touch on this point a lot during the winter and early spring, that pre and post front fishing can be awesome. In our section of the Middle Coast, there is an abundance of mud/grass back lake marsh. These back lakes range in size and contour depth, offering places for fish to stage during the weather pattern of a given week. Wading and drifting these back marsh areas can produce some personal best trout, and stud redfish. When talking about pre-front conditions, these fish can be tricked into a top water bite, and post front conditions the baits of choice are soft plastics and Corky's, something that can be worked slowly but effectively trick your slower lethargic fish to bite. One thing is for sure, unless you shake off the cabin fever and get down here, you will never get to feel that thump of a lifetime. I invite you to check out my website, or PM me for more details about winter rates.
