Sometimes the bass or bigger fish will run bait shad onto the bank trying to get them. I have seen this a few times.

Seen this on Lewisville as well. Usually the shad get trapped in shallow water and high winds wash them ashore.

Seen this on Lewisville and Hubbard when it's real windy it usually makes for some easy fishing.

When this happens at Pool the water birds scoop them all up.

No it's a fish kill and biologists are looking for a cause.

Big question: was this one little stretch of shore or over a bunch of shoreline? If that photo is all there is then while odd and puzzling, is not a big worry. If this was everywhere...big worry.

Too bad, another problem for a lake that is already low and not in the greatest of shape.

I hope the 5 LM bass in there don't die. They're all over 10 lbs.

rotfl no joke on that. But it is the best hybrid lake in the metro. Hope they just beached and died chasing shad spawn. Been going strong!

Any update on this? Are the fish still dying off for whatever reason?

We were on Benbrook this morning and noticed a similar area filled with dead crawfish. We launched at Rocky Creek Park and I would say there are a 100 yards of dead crawfish.
