Aussie looking for a Fishing Buddy in Dallas area - 11/29/16 07:14 PM

Hi Guys, I figured I'd make a post on this forum as I am looking for a fishing buddy. I'm from Australia and my girlfriend lives here in Dallas. I will be here for three months until I have to head back (I will be going back and forth for a bit). I've done lots of fishing my whole life (25 years old now) and work as a fishing guide on the Great Barrier Reef on the Norhtern Part of Australia. I don't really care where we would go fishing, but I feel like I've caught every single bass in the local park pond already haha.

Regards,

welcome
I live and normally fish west of ft. worth. I fish texoma, Bridgeport, eagle mountain, possum kingdom lakes.
Most of these lakes are a bit of a drive from Dallas but not too bad. I've been down with back issues but hope to be chasing striper, hybrid, and sandbass soon. Give me a call sometime and maybe we can get to gather.

I fish the Bryan/college station area and seadrift on the coast. If you feel like driving your welcome aboard.

Welcome mate!

Is Crocodile Dundee a big celeb down under?

Do Aussies own Australian shepherds or is that considered a faux pas?

Navy buddy told me Aussie girls love American guys? Is that bull?

What are the popular sports down under?

Ive been wanting to go visit Australia but why is everything there so darn expensive? A beer is like $12, 3 star hotels are like $450 a night. Its crazy expensive to be an Aussie it seems.

Oh I mostly kayak fish. If I had an extra one I would let you borrow and take you to a few spots. Be sure to get your license too mate! You can get one at Wal-Mart of sporting goods stores.

If I happen to do any bank fishing I will drop you a line! I mostly fish Lewisville and some small ponds in my area.

Well Dan; to answer your questions:
Everybody knows Dundee
Australian Shepperds are great cattle dogs so a lot of farmers own them, but Staffies and bull arabs are more popular
Never seen Aussie girls getting on with US blokes (because I didn't see to many US blokes down there) but I know for sure that US lasses love Aussie boys ahahaha
Most popular sport hands down is NRL Rugby which is Aussie rules. On top of that Rugby Union which is International rules, Australian Football and cricket

Hey Mate, South Africa has been blowing you guys on test match, have been watching the games on Willow TV. A test match on a good pitch is the best

Yeah not too much into my Rugby Union, more of a Rugby league bloke. Really getting into the football though!
