January Texas fishing - 11/23/15 02:50 AM
Hey Texas fishermen,
I live in Denver and wanted to fly to your state in January to do some bass/striper fishing...
Would Texoma or Sam Rayburn be better in winter?
Thanks for any advice,
James

Both should be good then. It depends on what species you prefer to target. The big striper will be on the move towards the river, and we should be having a blast with them in January. Blacks will probably be a little slow on Rayburn then, but the fish will be heavier than other times of year. Good chance of catching a real fatty. Come on down and do both!

Thanks much! Sounds great, I'd love to go after stripers on Texoma.
Appreciate it!

You might also consider Falcon or Choke Canyon for LM.

Lake Falcon will be your big bass adventure. It will be as good as it gets in January. Give me a shout and I will hook you up down there.
Thanks,
Donald

Give Donald Harper a call for Falcon! He'll get you pointed in the right direction.

It still gets nasty here in January.
Striper fishing has been bad this year due to the flooding.
