Another reason I'm glad I live in Alabama. Almost every gas station has an ethanol free pump.

I have had two motors deep-six on me in the last 15 years. They weren't 250 horse. One was a 150 and the other was a 130. It cost me about $3500 (10 years ago) to have them completely rebuilt. It's always a choice of how much money do you want to spend? Do you have the money to fix it? Or do you want to finance (or pay) 20K for a new one? I chose to fix mine.

If it was just the fuel then we would be seeing tons of problems like this.
I would say a 2010 is designed for ethanol added fuel.
One cylinder should not be too bad of a price to fix just need to find the real problem of why it happened.
The Evinrude E tec and E tec G2 have a sale event offering a 10 year non declining 100% factory backed warranty!
That is something to look at.
