I found this reel on sale at academy for $70. Opinions please - I ordered it but want to know what experience you’ve had it’s it. I’m a weekend guy not a tournament guy. Just having fun and relaxing while fishing.

If I did not have 20 or 30 good reels, I would be all over it. I have three relatively new Lews and they are very good.
Glad to hear that. This’ll be a first for me as I currently don’t own any Lews reels.

I have two. They are smooth reels. Caught a lot of striper up to 18 lbs this summer with them.
You will like it - switched over two years ago they make quality rods and reels

Like OP, just a “fish for fun” guy. The first baitcasters I bought were similar Lews. Both are terrific! Very easy to dial in the braking settings. Get a nest once in a while, but that is all user error. Trouble free.

I have 2 of them that I use regularly and I love them. I am a fan of Lews in general.
