March 11,2018 Cold Front coming fast, got to fish all morning in near perfect fishing conditions. Warm, winds died down, fog, drizzle, short light rain, and really good Spring fishing condition. From Sabine Pass to Sabine Lake, the Specks were there. Gracie caught a bunch of small Redfish and Speckled Trout, until she caught a really nice Speck! The water in Sabine Pass was pretty muddy, but still holding Speckled Trout. Sabine Lake was clearer, still brown, but clearer the farther north we went. Caught some Trout on Texas Trout Killers, Opening Night. Most of the Specks and Reds were caught on Live Shrimp on a popping cork. All of the fish we caught were in less than 3' of water. Did not catch a lot of fish in any one place, but almost everywhere we went, we caught Specks and Reds. Around noon a strong front came blew from the north 25-30 mph. That pretty much shut the fishing down for us, but it was good while it lasted. Shrimp in the Gulf of Mexico should be moving back in the lake soon. So, the Flounder Spring Run should be on the way. Where the Shrimp go, the Speckled Trout will be chasing them. Spring on Sabine Lake looks pretty exciting in the near future. Luckylindycharters
