bay side of mustang island has endless opportunities in a kayak. Surf fish the gulf side in the AM then head to the bay side and you can do it all in the same day. Jetties are fishable but since you have the kayak id avoid the jetty crowd at all costs.

Thanks. I was wondering if the surf was soable in the mornings or if the breakers were just too much? Was thinking of pomano and trout in the surf in the morning and fish the afternoon/ prolly evening for reds

Surf is usually calm in the mornings during the summer until the onshore flow strengthens in the afternoon. Anywhere on the backside of 361 this time of year is usually pretty good. Shamrock, Packery and Kate's Hole are good spots.

Many wives mess up fishing by yaking all the time. shocked

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

Teach a man to fish, he will sit in a boat all day and drink beer.
