On Friday I took the kayak to fish deep in the marsh in the Port Author area. The full moon tides were high and allowed me to get deep into the marsh and fish some dead end lakes.
I used the Controlled Descent Paddle Shad on a weedless hook, and inserted an aluminum rattle into the hollow cavity. I pinched an 1/8 oz weight about 1 foot above the lure.

On my way out I found many 14"-15" trout chasing shrimp under working birds. I fished the ones that were tight to the shore.

Once I entered the back lakes I was targeting reds with a steady retrieve with a few pops thrown in to get the rattle going. I caught several reds with none over 18".
In these same lakes I also found the flounder to be very aggressive hitting the same retrieve. Most were under sized, but I did manage 2 keepers.

Trout- CDL in a natural shrmip color, not currently sold.
Reds - CDL Pumpkinseed Chart glitter, Plum Chart
Flounder - CDL Pumpkinseed Char glitter, red/white

cheers We seem to have the same tastes in bait colors. That was my go to color fishing the inshore waters of South Florida and the Everglades.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
