I am going in a few weeks to fish..
I have been before in my boat, 16ft aluminum and can run in about 2 ft of water.
Was able to run out of Charlies into Shoalwater and out into the bay going south and fishing the islands headed out towards South Pass Lake and Long Lake by being careful and we lifted motor and poled a bit or trolled in the real skinny waters (weren't there very long)

I was able to run toward the old Coast Guard station by following the channel going to it.

If I got out of the channel there, not good!

I would like to try to get out to some of the shallow lakes, backside of the island at the pass.

My fishing map stops just south of Port Oconner and I am researching with Google Earth at the moment.

Just curious how deep, is there a good channel going past the Coast Guard station?

We will be fishing one day with a guide and two days solo..

Thanks
