We are going to visit some family in Houston area was wanting to get some fishing in. We will be going in August. We will be going to Galveston also. I have never fished salt water so I'm wondering what I'm looking at. Good places, artificial or real, different rigs. I will be fishing from the bank so I'm not sure how productive that will be. Looking to get into some reds, never caught any but heard it was fun. Any other tips would be appreciated.

If you are going to take the family to the beach I recommend Surfside over Galveston if you are looking for both good fishing and less crowded and nicer beach. The community is rural but definitely a great spot to hit up. There's a lot of info on it do some research here and Facebook has tons of groups that are all about gulf Coast fishing.

Politicians, baseball players, high-powered corporate CEO's they all seem to eventually let us down. Nature, however, does not. Look to her for inspiration and you will learn the secrets to living a good life. The most Important lesson it would seem is to make sure you spend as much time fishing as anything else.
