I'm going to be swapping my trebles to singles on lures when fishing the marsh. I'm favorable to Owner and Gamakatsu hooks, however the eyes seem too small for splits rings. Any preference on hook sizes and opinions?

I have seen some Owner and VMC the the eye is in-line with the hook like below. This way you don't need an extra ring.

Size depends on the lure. I know a lot of guys use 1/0 on Spook Jr's and 2/0 on the larger spooks
