Probably going to to go to the Freeport jetties this Saturday, any reports and tips on the fishing there?? Also went to San Luis pass last weekend and caught a couple small rays and bonnet heads, any tips on how to catch the Reds, trout, flounder, and black drum there?? I am also willing to try any place near Freeport that will catch fish. Thanks

I don't do jetty fishing anymore, so I can't give any info.
But be advised that we're having North winds at over 15 knots all day Saturday for the whole upper Texas coast.

I was planning to take the kayak that day, but looks like I'll be doing something else.

What are the optimal conditions for catching mackerel right now. Clarity, wind, tide, and bait??

Caught a limit of Smacks last Summer in Galveston. Try using something shiny or a top water spook. And of course live shrimp catches everything.
