Hello all,
I recently moved to Rockport, and have been visiting the middle coast areas heavily since May.
One of my favorite things to do is fish Copano Bay Bridge about 1 to 5 am. Normally, I can wear out the >15" trout, with quite a few skipjack/ladyfish thrown in. Also, I will come across one at jetties, piers, and the surf.
But I haven't caught one since August. I normally can pick one up on artificial or dead shrimp/ fishbites, but have yet to come across one. Even people I occasionally ask who aren't long-lining a chunk of squid on a Zebco 202 haven't come across them, but I don't ask much.
Anyone actually catching them? Feel free to send them to Rockport if you get tired of them. Thank you.

P.S. the only thing I haven't tried yet is live shrimp, but I can't see how it would change anything

consider yourself lucky, I hate those things unless I need cutbait, they have buried too many treble hooks in my hands for me to count

Just always taken a liking to them, and especially now that I am not-so amateur at fly fishing.
I must have traded them for mangrove snapper, have never caught one before 2016.

Well you can come to San Antonio bay and catch all the skippies you want. Any bird you see will have a fleet of them under it.

I picked several up the other day. Try under the bridge by Docs seafood, they were pretty thick but the birds were also working the area.
