I'm down here working and both of these are the closest places to go fishing for me. My question is, what kind of lures should I be throwing if I'm trying to target redfish and trout? Or do I just need to head a little closer to the coast? I've been throwing a DOA shrimp and just lightly popping it off bottom, with no results. I've also been throwing a strike king redfish spinnerbait with a pearl swimbait on it, slow retrieve, I've caught a bass and had a small redfish bite it but he spit the hook out at the bank. Am I just in the wrong place, or using the wrong baits, or what? I'm new to fishing for these species and am having a heck of a time. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
