Even though we had a stiff northeast wind today, the temperature didn't drop, and in turn the fish were not affected. There aren't many things better on the middle coast this time of year, than a pre-front bite.
Today we concentrated on fishing thigh to waist deep water over mud/grass. Working the edges of dirty streaks and windward shorelines proved to work best. As the wind picked up, a few drains we were near started to dump water and produced a handful of solid trout, with one 5#er that we lost. All the trout were caught on Corkys, and it didn't seem to matter what the color was.
When we turned our attention to redfishing, we worked the same depth and bottom, but located some pelicans crashing on bait. A couple reds were tricked by the Corky, but the Red Shad paddle tail, seemed to be the ticket!
Whether wade fishing or drift fishing, the bite is here! Because we haven't gone through a hard winter yet, our fish seem to be holding there normal feeding patterns. I invite you to check out my website and facbook page for more information on 2016 winter discounts.
