1/8 oz oldham screw lock head.

That's with 20 lb braid on a spinning rod, where we rarely fish deeper than 2'.

I'll use a 1/16 oz. fishing in the shallows, like a tourney pro guide Jay Watkins ( http://www.jaywatkins.com/ ) told me one time when we were talking about jig head weights:

"The longer you can keep your lure in front of a fishes mouth, the better chance you have at catching it."

I also use 1/8 oz. jigs, depending on wind conditions, depth and location I am fishing.

I prefer the Rockport Rattler jigs - the Original, the one I invented in 2003 ... not the Quick Lock - which is the one I got the US Patent on in 2009.

I use 5" SW Bass Assassins almost exclusively because they work for me: Plum/Chartruse and Glow/Firetail are the most productive in the 7 bays I fish around Rockport.

Pat, may I ask if you use a leader, and if so,fluor or mono. I mono what line please? Thanks.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

Teach a man to fish, he will sit in a boat all day and drink beer.

If I fish over shell I use 20lb floor leader on 12 lb main line.

No leader. Tied to 20# braid directly. Fish don't care.
