I'll be fishing the bays this week. I'll be staying near the marinas at Offatts Bayou. Does anybody have any pointers on where to look or what bait to use?

Drift fish with shrimp/gulp under popping cork? Or anchor up somewhere and fish on the bottom? Is mullet or croaker a better option right now? I do have plastics too and plan on trying the marshes.

I'm mostly looking for redfish and trout, but would be cool to catch some shark. Any other fish I could be targeting?

Cory, let me know how you did. I'm going down there on Saturday.
Thanks

Mostly fished the jetties. The boat cut on the north jetty and most of the way down the south jetty. Caught several reds that were all overs. Biggest being 25 pounds. Caught some sheep's head and black drum too. No trout. Caught something big that broke my line.

Fished off of the bottom. Only 1 hit on a popping cork. Had trouble with the catfish. Probably caught 200 of them. Didn't do much good with mullet, squid or croaker. Caught most everything on shrimp. Live or dead was about the same.
