I'm kicking around the idea of going in mid October but have never fished that boat. Anyone care to offer up thoughts, suggestions or anything else good, bad or in between? Thanks!

What are your thoughts on the Dolphin Bobby? I have never fisher her. Is this the slow boat or the new boat?

That would be the slow boat Chuck but they usually catch fish. The new, faster boat is the Dolphin Express. I've done 24 hour trips on the Dolphin but nothing longer. Another choice would be the La Pesca. There is a large gap in the comfort and maneuverability between the new boat and the older ones. But they have good captains and crew at Dolphin Docks and if you like to catch fish then it doesn't matter as much. I might mention that there is also a big gap in the price range of the trips on the different boats too.

Thanks! Hahaha yep I've noticed the price difference myself. The reason I was asking about this particular boat is I've never been out on any of DD boats but I'm kicking around the idea of going in October since it is the new moon and it will work out good with my work schedule. I can live with slow and save a few bucks. What kind of sleeping setup does the Dolphin have? Rod storage up top or where? I'm way over due going on one of these extended trips and I need to get out this year at some point other than 12 hour trips here and there. I haven't checked with DSHQ to see what they have for trips around a new moon sometime in the September to November time frame yet. Just thinking about trying DD just for chits and giggles if nothing else pans out. Thanks!

Decided to go out with DSHQ on October's new moon.
