I'm looking at either Costa Del Mar but it seems everywhere I read online people like Maui Jim better. Also I am seeing some sites say copper colored lenses or blue mirror lenses. Any and all experience welcomed for your opinions. Thanks

Don't know if CDM or MJ or better or if Smith's, Native, Magellan, etc, etc, etc, are better. My personal experience is blue lenses are just a bit better for offshore, especially in the bluewater when looking for small details, id'ing blackies vs bonito, etc. I'd be more concerned on fit and comfort, as most good polarized glasses do about the same on protection and cutting glare.

I find the Costa 580 lens is awesome on sunny blue days, agree with blue polarized, great for driving
Bright overcast I like the Costa 400 amber lens

doesn't need to be Costa Del Mar, I hear Smith's has pretty awesome lens tech as well as Oakley.

after lens options, it came to style, & costa won that for me.

your results may vary, of course......

The 580 glass lenses were great in my Costas super scratch resistant and lasted almost two years with out a blemish... sadly I got caught off guard and hit in the back with a large wave last trip and it popped them off keeper and they were donated to the fishing gods..

I now stick with cheaper options since fishing glasses ALWAYS get lost or messed up too quickly. Brands like Strike King, Magellan, etc., etc. work just fine for me and I can buy many, many sets for what Costas cost.

I have CDM Tuna Alleys in 580G Blue Lenses. I could not be happier with them on open water. The blue lenses cut the glare and the frames are just the perfect width to block sunlight from the sides.

been wearing Oakley's for the past 17 or so years. with the polarized lenses i've had the Half jacket xl 1.0 and currently bought a pair of SI Flak jacket xlj

FYI, after about 10 month with the Sheriff's Office, I recently found out about their Military and Law Enforcement discount website, requires a .mil or .gov email or documentation. also for retired as well, with documentation.

I agree with TOO, I looked around for a long time (like 6 months) before I landed on my Maui Jim Peahi. I will say they are the best pair of glasses I've ever owned and the clarity is way beyond all the other's I've owned (Berkley from walmart mainly). That being said the reason I picked them was because they fit my head better than any other I put on. I'm not going to say that Maui Jim is the best glasses out there, I really think all the big brands are pretty comparable when it comes to quality. I think you need to go to sunglass hut or something similar and try on every pair you possibly can and pick the one that fits your head best. I got the amber colored lenses and I've really liked them they seem to do a little better in lower light conditions and just as well in full sun. Just my two cents.

Another vote for 100 dollar Oakleys. Last longer than Costas. Look just as good, work just as good, last longer, and can get 2 for 1.
