Going on a cruise in September and want to do deep fishing. It was between Cozumel and Cayman. Cozumel is much cheaper! Any recommendations? This is the thing I'm mostly looking forward to so I'd like to get it right!
Thanks!

I have done fishing in Mexico on the Pacific side but Cozumel. I would think that you have inshore and offshore options there. It might be an hour or two boat ride to get to deep water there but I am not sure. There should be sail fish maybe Dorado, Wahoo, Jack, snapper, tuna. I would think you could get small tuna maybe dorado jack and a few others inshore fishing. some locals have PANGA single engine boats for inshore and can charge 40-65/hour and then there might be some super pangas that charge a little more. I would not pay more than 300-400 for a half day inshore with a few people and the maybe 700-1000 for an all day offshore that is at least 8 hours (3 or so hours of driving for that probly) I could be way off and maybe someone else will chime in but that is what I have found in other parts of mexico. The deep water price is usually driven by how far they have to drive to get you out to blue water. Just be clear on what you want when you talk to a captain and they should try and make it happen! Good luck! At worst you will catch a few fish and see some dolphins and turtles most likely.
I only fish on days that end in Y!

Yes, the 2 guides I've been researching are around $400 for 6 hrs which sounds good to me. It's private so it'd only be us 2. They also provide snacks, beer, they'll cut our fish and can get it cooked and a couple of other things. They both have hundreds of great reviews on tripadvisor and both have 5 stars. I was curious to see if anybody here would mention either of them.
Thanks for the tips!
