I’m headed down to Port A tomorrow and was wondering if it’d be worth pulling the boat down for some rig fishing. I haven’t gotten offshore in the winter too much and would like some advice. I want to catch some kings if they’re still around. Thanks.

If you want kings this time of year you have to head much further than the close rigs.

Gotcha, I brought it down I’ll probably try the Ones within 35 tomorrow and the state water today for snapper.

There's very few "close" rigs to port A anymore. water is still pretty cold for kings inside 10 nm. best bet is hit the snappers. I'd look at some of the newer manmade stuff. watch out for the cold front/wind change today if offshore.......

I found some nice snapper about 7 miles out. The fog was rough it made it tough finding the rigs. I’m going to try and get some sheepshead off the jetty before I head home. What happened to the close rigs?
