I never have liked all the summer boat traffic. Anyone know of any low traffic areas that someone could find some quiet fishing time?

It's a bit of a haul for you but Mill Creek Lake in Canton is a smaller lake that holds some decent fishing. I go out there if I just have to go and the wind has me blown off of Tawakoni or CC. Rarely more than about 4 boats on it, and if I plane out and run hard, it takes me about a minute before I run out of water. The deep area is pretty small.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

You know I totally Forgot about Mill Creek. I've fished there a couple times in kayaks and did well.

The LMB fishing is not stellar, but Cooper Lake is usually very quiet.

I sure wish I could find a small lake closer to home. I live just off the north side of Ray Roberts, and it's taking forever for the lake to come down from the floods. Has anyone been to Nacona lake lately?

Check out State Park Lakes on the TP&WD site. Some of them are very nice and loaded with fish, too!

Most of the smaller lakes I've fished recently had been suffering for the last several years from the drought. After the recent floods every one of them has fully recovered to pool level or pretty close to it. Predicting some great fishing over the next few years as the fallen trees and newly flooded brush around the lakes will create great habitat for the next spawn. Also, seeing lots of new cover in the form of vegetation moss, pads, tules and reeds, all great for bass and baitfish. texas

I agree. I went out to the Lbj grasslands last weekend. The lakes that had dried out are filled and look health again. Not sure how many fish were lost though.
