Hi , I will be in surf side on thanksgiving weekend , I am trying to plan and locate spots I could throw out crab traps/pots , I will have a kayak but would prefer not to use it for putting out traps thanks !
( is it legal to use crab traps in swan lake ? If so how many per a person ?)

I would put them around the Jetties, but any where there is Shallow water, will do. but in certain lakes, I would contact TPW to make sure. Chicken necks and turkey necks are working good...

I'm not much of a crabber.
But Surfside provides a Crabbing Pier along Bluewater Hwy (heading north, towards San Luis Pass).

I've never had a lot of luck catching anything in my crab trap. I've typically just fished it though in the canal water ways like around coastal condos and such. typically just chop up some mullet or pig perch to bait it.

San Luis Pass North East side of Bridge last July, we ate good. String Stick, Chicken Neck Net... 2ft of water..
