Do y'all wear waders at the coast? Only thing I am worried about is getting in the truck soaking wet. But it must get HOT this time of year in a pair of waders.

This time of year - wet wade with lightwt "angler" clothes. Pat off with a towel and you'll be surprised how fast the newer nylon materials dry out. By the time you get the truck re-loaded, you may just need a towel on the seat. Hold the waders for the cooler months.

Khaki or nylon wade fishing pants, some have the zip off legs to make shorts out of them.
Pack some sandals/crocks to swap for the wading booty's, place a towel on the seat and your set.
If it's more than a 10 - 15 minute short ride, then I'll pack an extra Columbia fishing shirt.

board shorts, correct footwear, long sleeve shirt, worry more about sun protection than seat protection, keep casting

As mentioned above, just bring a change of clothes or a towel to sit down on in the truck. Wear long fishing pants (jellyfish protection, and helps keep sand/mud/shells out of the wading boots when tucked into the boot) I prefer the Simms pants that Academy put's on sale from time to time, and I swear by GameGuard fishing shirts (they are the coolest, dry the quickest, blood washes out of them without any scrubbing or spot treatment, and last a long time). With a dry fit material underwear, sandals and the clothes mentioned above, you will almost be completely dry by the time you load the boat/kayak/plastic banana float and put your gear up.
Waders are a definite no this time of year, heat exhaustion and heat stroke are real things.
I say we fish 5 days a week and work 2.
