The three choices in Port Aransas are, Fishermans Warf, Dolphin Docks, and Deep Sea Headquarters. I lived in Port A for eight years and developed this opinion, the Warf Cat and Scat Cat at Fishermans Warf were the nicer boats but Dolphin Docks and Deep Sea Headquarter had the best Captians. When I lived there I would go down to the docks to watch them unload their catches they all had their good days and bad days, so any one of the three would probably be ok.

I have always gone out of Deep Sea Headquarters. Many many times and have only been skunked once. I went out of another one, but don't remember the name at the moment, and they used electric wind reels. I hated that as it wasn't fishing. Am also going for a couple of weeks in Oct. and will probably do a Wed. 12 hr from Deep Sea Headquarters and maybe another 12 hr. from Dolphin Docks, just to try another place. Love to fish from shore in the Packery Channel and in the surf near the granite jetties and in bay of Mustang Island State Park where we park our travel trailer. Also 4 wheel drive down Padre Island Nat'l. Seashore fishing along the way down and back. That's a whole day in itself.

The wife and I where in PA at a dock sit cafe when the boats came in. The crew took all the fish and layed them on the HOT parking lot pavement for pictures. Alot of nice fish handled very bad.

I agree with the handling of the fish coming off the party boats. That hot parking lot stuff happens all the time but I have never had any fish spoilage.
