Need some advise and the best brand,# test, and such that works great for surf fishing for 3-5 foot sharks. Not happy with mono at all. Ready to make the switch. Please advise and thanks.

For surf fishing I run Penn Fierce 8000's. I use 50lb braid with a tape backing to avoid the line slipping on the reel. I believe the reels hold about 450 yards of 50lb braid and I have never been spooled or anywhere near. Ive landed many 3' sharks and several 4 footers with one just over 5' using this set up.

Why don't you like mono? The Texas Shark Fishing site has 2 great handbooks about shark fishing.
