I will be heading to Port Lavaca next week for business and want to get some fishing in too. Can anyone tell me where are some good spots to catch trout or red fish and what kind of bait? I have a boat and any suggestions on where to launch will be appreciated as well. Thanks!!!!

I have only been fishing off the piers and causeway in Port Lavaca because I don't have a boat, but right under Hwy.35 between Point Comfort and Port Lavaca is pretty decent for trout and flounder. Just south of the existing causeway (Hwy.35) the remains of the old causeway still lays under water and is very shallow, people wade fish out there. Be careful with the boat in that area. Hopefully someone here has been out there with a boat and can tell you more.
