Hey there, A buddy of mine wants to propose to his girlfriend there so we all got a beach house and I will be in corpus christi labor day weekend.

I want to do some jetty fishing and surf fishing at night since I have a 12 ft surf rod

anyone have any tips/ lures/ bait? you guys can inform me on how to fish in corpus
or a good surf fishing area at night?

Typically I would start small and work up the foodchain in the surf. Start with a small double drop/pompano rig baited with a small piece of dead shrimp/fishbite (any flavor/color is fine) combo. This should get you whiting, pinfish, and sometimes skipjack. Cut those up into chunks and load them onto a leader with an appropriate sized circle hook/4oz spider weight and send it out in a gut.
