Taking the family down to Corpus next week. Any good spots to get some wade fishing in? If so what's biting. Only use to salt fishing in Florida so any advice on Texas Salt fishing appreciated.

Try to drive fown to JFK Causway area, shops nearby for fam while you fish. The Madre was poppin last weekend lots if trout ,but no reds water was also super clear. There is lots of grass so i like weedless soft plastics. Drive down Laguna Shores drive and fish out of the boat ramps. Pita island on the flats about 300 yards out are good.

Monday and Tuesday are looking real promising for wade fishing the surf, as the winds will be down some and the surf running only about a foot. Should be real good conditions for tossing topwaters such as Super Spooks or Skitter Walks in the first and second guts for tide running trout. Trout have been biting pretty good when the water is green and the waves two feet or less. In addition to the topwater bite, soft plastics with a 1/4 oz jighead, and twitch bait plugs such as Mirrolures could also be productive. Try the area north of Fish Pass jetties up to Port A, or down PINS for the best water conditions, as the area around Packery channel has been off color. I will be out there somewhere Monday morning early. Some friends have been catching some real nice trout in the 20 to 26 inch range during the past few days since the winds have calmed.

Thanks for the info guys. Caught a bunch of short trout and reds. Caught a couple on root beer jigs, most came off of live finger mullet. Ended up staying in Arkansas Pass. Will certainly be back soon. Did manage some good flounder though.
