I just returned from a trip down to Galveston, and boy was it rough running offshore. There were 5-6 foot seas between and on top of the swells. We were taking such a beating we decided to stop at the 10 mile rig. When we got to the rig the current was running so fast we could not fish it. I had to bring the boat out of the hole just to remain stationary. My boat comes out of the hole around 15 mph. Is that a typical current during a full moon offshore from Galveston? I have never seen anything like it.
