The wife and I are headed to Sanibel Island mid-August. Plan to do some shoreline fly fishing. Since we have never been there I would appreciate any tips or things to consider in advance of the trip.

Many thanks...

There are lots of beach goers there walking and hanging out. Some good fishing to be had along the causeway. Head up toward Captiva for some beach fishing there too.

Use live shrimp on a 1/2 to 1 ounce jig head. I prefer to use 30# braid and a 20# fluoro leader about 4' long on a spinning reel.
