 panama beach in July

I'm taking a trip to panama city beach in July for a week and we will be right on the beach With the bay not too far north of us. I may not have too many other chances to get on the salt fish. What should I target, and what bait/lures should I use? Any direction will be greatly appreciated.

All I can add is don't take a reel 6/0 or larger on the beach or pier, they are real serious about that, I found out very fast. Also no bloody bait. Traffic was horrible!!!!
