I'm looking to buy a boat and I'm trying to figure out how much TT&L will be. Say for example I buy the boat for 10,000. I know it would be $625 for the taxes (10k *6.25%), but what about the other fees? What would be my final cost? Thanks for your help.

It is roughly $201 for license and registration for boat, motor, and trailer. I do it every day and I would not bet that I know the right answer for each boat/motor/trailer. DMV always throws a curve. They have a couple fees on registration. If trailer is untitled, you can take off $33. If it is late, add fees plus interest.

Best bet is to walk into the office with your check NOT MADE OUT ahead of time. Remember, you are dealing with government. We have also seen some of the things change from office to office and even teller to teller. Texas seems to be one of the better states for being consistent.
Thank you,
Ken

Your trailer will be registered separately by DMV. I think the renewal on mine was around $57. The state is going to get every penny they can.
