Yeah, it's far more important to start shooting and gain experience than wait until you get the perfect set up. You may never get the perfect setup, or like me an many other, you buy a camera without any experience, and you find it was the wrong camera.

Once you gain the experience and your ability outgrow the capabilities of your cellphone, tablet or whatever camera you have, you have a better idea of how you shoot, and what you'll need.

I want a more cinematic look like the BBC, National Geographic-type documentaries. This can be done very easily with a used Panasonic G7 and vintage camera lenses. I will probably get a GH4 Panasonic, but the reason I know what I need now is because I've spent several years shoot on the equipment I have instead of buying the latest greatest, just because it's the latest greatest.

I plan on fleshing out this series more.
