Excellent! I'd like to see more of this, James. So often, the issue of matching a hook to a lure just isn't discussed.
One example is the Yamamoto Fat Ika, a great plastic lure with a very fat and very heavy plastic. What to use, what to use. Its body is relatively stubby then the tentacles, of course, so if you select a larger hook to leave some "bite room" for the fish to press down on, too large a hook might exceed the length of the body.
This is one of many examples where more information would be helpful.
