I will be camping at Ray Roberts state park Isle du Bois branch next weekend and wanted to see if anyone could offer some advice on bank fishing. Is there a certain area is should be fishing in and what lures would work best around this time. Im looking to fish for bass and catfish.

You're on a main lake point..... fish first few hours before and after sunup and few hours before and after sundown for cats near wherever the wind is blowing into. Fish where the wind is blowing straight on and also where the land makes an edge break from the waves. Also try that point with the dock on it on the S side any time that it's not loaded with people.

FYI you would most likely catch some crappie on that jetty and dock at night, and the docks on the boat ramp, along with on the rocks too. Jig up and down the pier, I'm sure someone has dropped some cover there somewhere.....it's got lights so they will be there.... Plus there's a massive brush pile the size of a school bus swimming distance off that park that holds good crappie. If you can even get a tube or pool floaty you can fish it.

The 2 coves on both side of quail run circle can be good for sand bass. You can wade fish both coves and catch surfacing sandies.

We went and camped one night and people were catching sand bass off the pier pretty good at night. I bet you could pull in a few cats hanging under the sandies. The lights from the pier at night attract the shad. I have had luck with catfish hanging under sand bass to clean up any scraps they leave behind. Sandies are savages when they feed lol.
