Are there any good places to bank fish on Broken Bow lake? Taking several kids this weekend and have never fished the lake. Not taking my boat as it would be too crowded. Hoping there are some places to bank fish where they might catch some bass, crappie, catfish or whatever will bite. We have tried the river the last couple years but would like to try the lake this weekend if there are some good areas with access. Most are boys that are 11 with varied experience. Would really like to catch a smallmouth if there is an area good for that. Thanks!

I've never fished the lake from the bank so I can't say they are good spots but the few places I know you can access the bank is just past the marina on road E1965,you can drive to the water. Hochatown State Parks has a lot of bank access and some logging roads off of 259 but they are pretty remote.

The lake has some nice smallies and can probably be caught from the bank this time of year. The best and probably easiest place to catch smallies up there is on the Glover River. Only problem is it requires a permit to access and is very remote.

Forgot to mention go up 259 where it meets up with the Upper Mountain Fork and there are a few places you can park and walk the bank pretty easy. Fish the rapids and pools. Might find a few small mouth but there are lots of spotted bass and they fight about as good.

Yes you can bank fish it, I do it every year since I cant canoe the river anymore. Just be prepared for steep uncomfortable banks in most places. There are some spots that are flatter than others, but most are on a pretty good incline.

I would try around Lakeview Lodge's boat ramp, Grasshopper ramp or some of the camping areas.
