Simple question...

Pond fishing, or lake for that matter...

Do you cats use "swivels" of any kind or tie lures straight to the line?

Reasons for/against your tactics. IN65

For most of my stuff in ponds I use braid tied direct to a flouro leader, use your knot of choice. Most of the ponds I fish get hammered with pressure and I use a lot of finesse techniques that a swivel would restrict the motion. I use a leader with a snap up north around pike, but down here, straight tie on with no snap 99.9% of the time.

There are no fish in sonic pond EDIT: Except 1 20lb catfish

I don't think he's gonna use a slab in a pond

I use them but I'm weird about changing baits every other cast and its just me being lazy and not wanting to retie. Straight to the lure is a stronger connection for sure. Some lures need a swivel cause the will cause some line twist with out one, but its less common. I say do what works for you. They don't keep me from catching fish. But I will say I've seen fish in clear water actually strike my swivel so they can distract the fish away from your bait when finesse fishing. If your throwing a fast moving bait I think you will have no issues with that.
