I went to Livingston dam yesterday evening. Got there around 6:30 (didn't realize I needed a permit/pass from Browders) and started to the west of the boat ramp. On 5th cast or so, I caught a large buffalo. Maybe 12-15lbs. After a little while, I moved to the other side of the boat ramp and (with the assistance with a new friend who helped me with my set up and retrieve) ended up keeping 22 white bass and 1 drum. Released probably 30 fish. No doubt I caught over 50, but so many were this years hatch... 5" long. Threw back a lot of 9-10 inch fish also.

Basically caught all the fish on a #12 pet spoon about 5' behind a popping cork. Casting and burning it back. No popping, keeping the spoon at the surface. Fly rod probably would have worked great.

Fish stopped biting at 8:40pm. Caught 1 undersized stripper. Most fish came between the boat ramp and the point as you move around toward the bridge.

It was a great evening. Quite a few boats out and I'm sure they were catching easy limits. I read they cut back water flow from 15,000 to 8,000 overnight...

Does anyone know: if i want to be there at first light, do i have to get a pass the day before from Browders or are they open early?

Wow, was that a male or female stripper? (lol) blush

Just kidding. Thanks for the report and congrats on the nice harvest! Did you catch them from the bank or watercraft?

It was a different world when we were boys and girls....

All from the bank. And yes... Striper. Not stripper. Preview fail.

There were quite a few boats out, but I was bank fishing. A yak would have been fun...

They open at 6am
Get the pass the day you go to the dam, not before.

Did you fish West side or East side of the river ?

I fished the West side of the river. I might go back tomorrow morning... but it all depends on how work goes today...
